Three LEGO Ideas third 2023 review projects don’t stand a good chance

As we await the results of the LEGO Ideas third 2023 review, some projects don’t stand a good chance of being picked thanks to recent sets.

The results of the LEGO Ideas third 2023 review are coming soon and we’ve already named many fan-designed models that have a good chance of being selected for a set. With that in mind, there are a few that don’t likely won’t have nearly as much luck on their side.

Since these projects were pitched and accepted into the review round, a trio of sets have been revealed or released that probably severely limit their chances of being picked for a set in the third 2023 review.

NASA’s SLS Block 1 & 1B Rockets – Artemis Missions by Whatsuptoday and Matthew Nolan almost certainly won’t be picked as NASA’s SLS mission has since received an official set in the form of 10341 NASA Artemis Space Launch System with everything the project pitched and more. They’re both different takes on the rocket but there’s no doubt they would conflict with each other on shelves.

The Modular Heritage Museum from Anon22 isn’t quite the same as 10326 Natural History Museum. Despite this, the track record of modular projects – and a possibly uncertain future for them on the platform – combined with the fact that they’re both museums means that this submission likely won’t be moving any further. Anon22 should be proud of their build though with a variety of unique techniques on show that would fit right in alongside the modular buildings.

LEGO Anatomy by legotruman might have met its match in the third 2023 review thanks to an upcoming LEGO Fortnite set. The unusual 77072 Peely Bone undoubtedly has quite a few similarities to the LEGO Ideas project but the biggest difference is that one depicts a minifigure and another portrays a Fortnite outfit with entirely different proportions.

Still, there could be too much between them that’s the same for them to both occupy shelves in the near future. At least legotruman’s concept has become a reality, just not in the way they were probably expecting.

While these few projects might not have as good a chance as others in the third 2023 review, it says nothing for the quality of the creations and the users should be proud of getting as far as they have and they may still be picked yet.

We’ll know for certain what’s next for LEGO Ideas soon but for now, there are no further teases on when we can expect the LEGO Ideas third 2023 review results. You can click here to see exactly which projects are in the review.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
