LEGO Legend of Zelda misprints offers Link a new hairstyle

LEGO Legend of Zelda has finally begun but already, the theme has a major misprint that gives Link an all-new hairstyle that might be desirable.

After a highly-anticipated launch earlier this month, 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 is finally here, bringing LEGO The Legend of Zelda to life officially. One week after its launch, some enthusiasts are reporting a notable error in a limited number of copies in the set, offering a Nintendo misprint.

Reddit user TDMTortilla shared their notice of this misprint to the LEGO subreddit, which affects the hair used for Young Link and Adult Link from the Ocarina of Time model. In their copy of the set, one of the hair and hat pieces has a green streak running through the hair.

This is more likely an issue with the moulding process, making it a ‘mismould’ rather than a misprint, but the term still fits for this error. Another user reports seeing a post about the same issue, though we can’t track it down. Either way, this is one misprinted LEGO piece that will surely fetch a hefty price on the secondary marketplace, should the user choose to sell it.

Otherwise, it’s one of the most collectable LEGO items ever, depicting an iconic part of gaming history with a notable twist. Other comments joked that it could be used for Link during his teenage years after dying his hair. We’re not certain that Nintendo would recognise that as official lore though.

You’re unlikely to find this misprint in your copy of 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 but you can pick up a standard version of the set now and our review is available to read by clicking here. Early impressions of the model are positive too.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
