LEGO Life magazine relaunches later this year with new title

The LEGO Group is rebranding and relaunching its in-house magazine later this year, putting its faithful print media mascot front and centre.

Currently titled ‘LEGO Life’, the company’s free title for kids will relaunch in November as simply ‘LEGO Magazine’. “Our magazine is all about LEGO fun for kids, and we wanted to make sure that the name of the magazine reflects that,” the LEGO Group explained in an FAQ. “We listened to kids and parents worldwide, and they all agreed: LEGO Magazine is the perfect new name! We hope you’ll love it too.”

The magazine will still be completely free for kids aged five to nine years old. All you need to do to receive it is sign up for a subscription at LEGO.com and enter your child’s details. The next issue will drop through letterboxes in November 2024, packed with the usual mix of comics, builds, activities and more – and the launch issue pops a familiar face front and centre on the cover.

That floppy-haired fellow is Max, the face of countless LEGO print publications including the LEGO Club, Brickmaster and LEGO Club Jr. magazines. He’s since made regular appearances in the LEGO Life magazine, but he first showed up in print media in 2008, and physical minifigures of Max were briefly available at LEGO Stores in February 2010.

You can grab one of those on BrickLink (if you’re so inclined) for chump change, which isn’t bad given he’s got an exclusive head, torso and legs (with side printing). If you’re more interested in signing up for LEGO Magazine for the young LEGO fan in your life, head over to LEGO.com and subscribe now. You’ll receive four issues per year completely free of charge.

LEGO Magazine is available in the UK, US, Canada, Ireland, Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, South Korea, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand. Head here to find out more.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
