LEGO Ideas The Nightmare Before Christmas avoids CMF repeat

Thanks to some variations, two of the minifigures in 21351 The Nightmare Before Christmas avoid repeating those in an existing LEGO CMF series.

The LEGO Group yesterday officially revealed 21351 The Nightmare Before Christmas, a 2,193-piece build priced at £169.99 / $199.99 / €199.99. The upcoming LEGO Ideas set will launch exclusively for Insiders members on September 3, while everyone else can grab the spooky seasonal model from September 6.

Included in 21351 The Nightmare Before Christmas are six minifigures of characters from the 1993 Tim Burton classic, along with a new Zero figure element and a brick-built version of The Mayor. While some fans are looking forward to getting hold of the LEGO Ideas set next month, others have already voiced their displeasure at what they feel is missing from the model.

The good news for those who picked up 71024 Disney Series 2 back in 2019 though is that the Jack Skellington and Sally minifigures in the CMF remain unique, despite the imminent arrival of 21351 The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Thanks to a number of minor variations, the versions of Jack and Sally in the upcoming LEGO Ideas set are distinct in their own ways. For starters, the Pumpkin King now boasts a new head print (with smaller eyes) and updated torso and leg printing, with the latter piece being borrowed from the longer LEGO Avatar minifigures.

Jack Skellington’s black coat also appears to have gained a cloth tails piece, but his longer arms have lost their previous white striped printing. Fortunately, the character’s black bat bowtie accessory has been retained, resulting in what looks to be an overall improved look.

Also having been slightly updated, Sally gains an all-new hair piece and double-sided printed head. However, the printing on her dual-moulded arms has vanished, although she does now boast a new printed torso and dual-moulded legs.

You’ll be able to check out the full selection of minifigures included with 21351 The Nightmare Before Christmas for yourself when the LEGO Ideas set arrives from September 3, for £169.99 / $199.99 / €199.99.

Despite no Oogie Boogie or Dr. Finklestein, set looks good. Great if one or both of those were included. GWP maybe?
