LEGO Orient Express replacement parts order comes with suspicious extra elements
A suspicious array of extra parts could change LEGO Ideas 21344 The Orient Express Train into a vehicle fit for Hercule Poirot himself.
As reported on earlier this month, the LEGO Group is correcting the error of a few misprinted stickers from LEGO Ideas 21344 The Orient Express Train. If you are affected, all you need to do is reach out to LEGO customer service to have replacement stickers with the correct printing set out to you for free. Easy, right?
Well, a possible mystery is unfolding with one customer’s order, as shared on reddit, as they received some extra parts in their replacement delivery that they hadn’t specified. Even more strangely, the four items could easily be taken straight from the start of a murder mystery – or a murder on the Orient Express, you might say.
reddit user Portal2player58 received, on top of their replacement stickers, a cleaver, a phone, top secret mail, and an umbrella. Just like a candlestick, a rope, and a pistol in Cluedo, all four of the accessories could be pulled from a period murder mystery on board the very train the set is based on.
Other reddit commenters were quick to point out the amusing coincidence, with one writing: “That’s a vaguely threatening combination of extra parts to receive”.
“I think they sent you murder weapons…” added another, which the original poster agreed to.
What makes the presence of these extra parts even more ominous is that they’re by and large not used for their original purposes in the actual build of 21344 The Orient Express Train. For example, the cleaver is used for detailing under the wheels and the phone to make up two rails on the sides of the engine. Perhaps extras were sent out to help the builder turn the LEGO Ideas set into a Murder on the Orient Express custom build?
