Upcoming LEGO Pharrell Williams biopic gets its own theme song

Superstar artist Pharrell Williams has released the title track from his upcoming LEGO animated biopic of the same name, Piece by Piece.

The LEGO Group this week revealed official details of the first set based on a unique collaboration with superstar artist Pharrell Williams. 10391 Over the Moon with Pharrell Williams is a 966-piece LEGO Icons model releasing on September 20, with the build based on the upcoming LEGO animated biopic, Piece by Piece.

In advance of the set launching later this month, and the arrival of Piece by Piece in cinemas from October 11 in the US (November 8 in the UK), the first song from the movie has now dropped.

‘Piece by Piece’ is the title track from the brick-based documentary of the same name and is reported to appear in the upcoming animated film. The upbeat song is intended to be a life-affirming tune and features the Princess Anne High School Fabulous Marching Cavaliers.

While fans are able to listen to Piece by Piece right now, there’s currently no official video available to support the track. It’s also not yet known if the full motion picture soundtrack will be available to stream, download and purchase at some point closer to the film’s release.

Early reviews for Piece by Piece have praised the movie, stating that Williams’ journey from childhood to global mega superstardom is “not just a biopic, but a gorgeous musical fantasia.”

10391 Over the Moon with Pharrell Williams will begin shipping from September 20, with the LEGO Icons set available to pre-order now priced at £94.99 / $109.99 / €109.99.
