LEGO Piece by Piece minifigure generator reveals non-existent elements

The latest promotion for the upcoming LEGO Piece by Piece movie has revealed a swathe of parts that don’t exist and may never – in this form.

The official trailers and clips for Piece by Piece have showcased that the biopic is not afraid to invent all-new LEGO elements to best depict the artists in the movie. Now, these tools are being placed into your hands as part of a new Piece by Piece minifigure generator. Fair warning – the generator has music playing in the background and you might want to turn down the volume on your device before clicking the link.

As well as a variety of fashionable torsos and legs that appear exclusive to the film at the time of writing, four new hair pieces can be utilised in the tool to make the perfect minifigure. To our knowledge, these four pieces are exclusive to the minifigure generator and presumably the movie, with no physical home in any LEGO set at the time of writing.

The hat and hair combination element appears to use the first hair piece in the gallery as a base but the latter two are the most interesting of the selection. The thin braids and dreads that hang off the base of the last hair piece above would likely be too thin to exist physically, at risk of snapping under pressure.

That said, these could serve as inspiration for future LEGO hair elements and they’re a striking pair of pieces, even digitally. Piece by Piece’s team hasn’t been afraid to create all-new elements for the LEGO movie, even including a lack of hair

The arrival of this generator times nicely with today’s launch of 10391 Over the Moon with Pharrell Williams. The movie’s only LEGO set and those exclusive minifigure heads are available now for £94.99 in the UK, $109.99 in the US, and €109.99 in Europe.

Piece by Piece will have staggered release dates around the world, starting in the US and Canada on October 11 and in other regions throughout November, December, and into January 2025.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
