LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean sails into LEGO Fortnite

Fortnite’s latest collaboration is now live, featuring some LEGO Fortnite content as LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean is back, digitally.

Following the debut of LEGO Destiny 2 and the end of a Star Wars pass, Fortnite has launched a new mid-season pass based on Pirates of the Caribbean named Cursed Sails. As usual, there’s a track of free content and an optional track.

The latter costs 1,000 V-bucks to access and both can score you some Pirates of the Caribbean cosmetics for use within the various Fortnite modes, including LEGO Fortnite. For LEGO enthusiasts, there are two outfits with a LEGO style and two emotes within this pass and you’ll need to complete quests to unlock the various stages.

There’s also a bundle and individual items in the in-game shop based on Pirates of the Caribbean, including an emote and three LEGO Styles that can be used within LEGO Fortnite and LEGO Islands. The characters available to purchase include Jack Sparrow, Barbossa, Davy Jones and Elizabeth Swann.

This isn’t quite the debut of LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean though as a full theme dedicated to the franchise existed between 2011 and 2017, including these characters as physical minifigures.

Compared to the physical minifigures for each of these characters, it’s undoubtedly a major upgrade for all of them with more accurate skin tones and an increased level of detail not present in the (at least) seven-year-old minifigures. The fact that they’ve been depicted digitally this time might explain some of that.

While LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean has yet to return physically as a new movie is far on the horizon, you can pick up these LEGO Styles within Fortnite now as part of the Cursed Sails pass or in the item shop.

They should pair well with the LEGO Pirates LEGO Island and those wanting some physical LEGO Pirates minifigures may want to look towards 10320 Eldorado Fortress before it retires at the end of 2024.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
