LEGO pre-orders: All you need to know about LEGO pre-orders ahead of August 1

We’ve gathered together all the information you need about LEGO pre-orders ahead of August 1, including ways to save before sets release.

August 1 is packed full of LEGO releases, many of which are begging for a day-one purchase or even a pre-order. Pre-ordering from LEGO.com or third-party retailer guarantees you a copy of the the set, although it’s worth noting that it usually won’t ship until the day of release. You won’t necessarily get the set early but it will secure you a copy in the event that it sells out or goes on back order immediately after release – which happens more than you might think.

In some cases, you can also save money by pre-ordering if you find the right deal. To help you sort through the pre-order chaos, we’re breaking down everything you need to know about LEGO pre-orders and spotlighted some third-party retailers offering early pre-orders as well.

Pre-ordering at LEGO

There are 45 sets available to pre-order on LEGO.com right now, 34 of which will be released on August 1. That’s the majority of the upcoming releases coming on August 1 and guarantees you a copy, even if the LEGO Group sells out soon after the sets hit shelves. Your order won’t ship until the official release date of the set, so it doesn’t earn you any early access but should mean your set will be on its way to you on August 1 or soon after.

Right now, there’s also the added advantage for those shopping in the US with 40692 Candy Store still available for all purchases over $200 – and that includes pre-orders. The GWP won’t ship until the pre-ordered sets do after their release but it’s a good way to meet that hefty minimum spend if nothing else takes your fancy.

Save by pre-ordering at Zavvi

UK retailer Zavvi has 5% off 22 LEGO sets across LEGO Star Wars, Technic, Animal Crossing, and more with code LEGO5, which isn’t a huge saving but is more than anyone else is offering right now. It’s rare to see discounts on sets before they’ve even launched, so this is well worth a closer look if there are any of those sets on your wishlist for August 1. Naturally, the more you spend, the more you’ll save and it’s worth noting that Zavvi charges a flat £1.99 UK delivery fee, so if you’re planning to buy multiple sets, bundling them into one order will save you money on postage.

Early pre-orders at The Minifigure Store

The Minifigure Store is also a good place to keep an eye out for pre-orders, with the UK retailer opening pre-orders even earlier than the online LEGO store for a few sets. LEGO sets pre-ordered from The Minifigure Store will be shipped by August 1, meaning that this could be one of the fastest ways to get your hands on brand-new LEGO, aside from going into a LEGO store yourself. The Minifigure Store‘s August 1 pre-orders feature the majority of the LEGO Star Wars and Technic waves, along with a range of other highly-anticipated sets.
