New LEGO Speed Champions sets are showing up early in the US

August’s new LEGO Speed Champions sets are already showing up on store shelves in the US, including 76935 NASCAR Next Gen Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.

Two new eight-stud-wide remakes of six-wide LEGO Speed Champions cars are dropping next month, revisiting a pair of 2019 vehicles in 76935 NASCAR Next Gen Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and 76934 Ferrari F40. And if you’re in the US, you might not have to wait for August 1 to get your hands on them, as they’re apparently already available in Walmart.

Redditor Eloygarcia84 posted photos of the Speed Champions display in their local Walmart, and both of the new cars are out and available to buy. Their standard retail price in the US is $26.99 per car, matching the first two waves of LEGO Speed Champions 2024 sets that hit shelves in March and June.

Fans in the LEGO Speed Champions Collectors Facebook group have also reported finding the two new cars already, and have even shown off images of them out of the box and built up. Matthew Melchiori says he picked up 76935 NASCAR Next Gen Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 at his local Walmart, while Richard Morgan apparently sourced 76934 Ferrari F40 through a ‘well-known online retailer’.

While Richard didn’t disclose the name of the retailer in question, he says they’ve since removed the listing for the set altogether. If you’re stateside and hoping to get your hands on 76934 Ferrari F40 and 76935 NASCAR Next Gen Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 a couple of weeks before they’re widely available at LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores, your best bet at the moment is checking out your local Walmart.

The rest of us will have to bide our time until August, but you can at least secure your copies of the new sets ahead of time by pre-ordering at LEGO.com. 76934 Ferrari F40 and 76935 NASCAR Next Gen Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 are priced at £20.99 / $26.99 / €26.99 apiece.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.

I don’t think it’s fare that these 2 new sets are being released in other states or wherever & posting pics of them when the rest of us have to wait til August.
