LEGO Star Wars magazine 25th anniversary special now available

A special 25th anniversary issue of the official LEGO Star Wars magazine has hit UK newsstands today, complete with one of two limited edition gifts.

It’s been virtually impossible to avoid the LEGO Star Wars theme’s 25th anniversary celebrations this year, with multiple new sets, exclusive minifigures, GWPs, Insiders rewards and more available in recent months.

Also getting in on the quarter century celebrations is the latest issue of the official LEGO Star Wars magazine, with the Immediate Media publication out now on UK newsstands, complete with two different sets of limited edition cover gifts.

LEGO Star Wars magazine Issue 111 launched today, with a split print run that offers up a free Darth Vader minifigure with all copies, the exact same version that’s been included in a number of previous sets, as well as the upcoming 75394 Imperial Star Destroyer.

In addition, LEGO Star Wars magazine Issue 111 also comes with one of two limited edition tin boxes for fans to collect. The first is slightly larger than a mobile phone and features a removeable embossed lid with an image of the Sith Lord on it, while the alternate version is shaped like Darth Vader’s helmet.

Despite visiting a number of retailers, we were only able to secure a copy of LEGO Star Wars magazine Issue 111 with the former tin box. That might suggest the Darth Vader variant is slightly harder to come by or that copies with that specific cover gift are exclusive to a specific retailer.

The tin box we obtained with the publication isn’t much to write home about though and is merely used to contain the free Darth Vader minifigure. There’s nothing else inside, despite a previous report noting that European copies of the special LEGO Star Wars magazine would come with either a Darth Vader or Stormtrooper trading card.

If you’re still interested in picking up the 25th anniversary publication, LEGO Star Wars magazine Issue 111 can be purchased right now for a higher-than-usual price of £6.99. Next month sees LEGO Star Wars magazine Issue 112 arriving in mid-August, with the title including a free Sabine Wren minifigure with two blasters that was most-recently included with 75362 Ahsoka Tano’s T-6 Jedi Shuttle.
