LEGO Star Wars: The Force of Creativity could be released widely later

LEGO Star Wars 5008878 The Force of Creativity is available and text on its product page may offer hope for a wide release, with one caveat.

A new part of the listing for the book states that when purchased on LEGO.com, the book includes the time capsule and its exclusive keepsakes, including a replica 1999 Toy Fair invite, an unproduced animation script, a postcard with an early version of the original LEGO Star Wars logo, development art for an unreleased Zam Wesell minifigure form 2020 and more.

While the existence of the time capsule and the sleeve that the rest of the package comes in was known, the start of that sentence seems to be an odd inclusion unless the LEGO Group plans to sell the book elsewhere in the future.

Provided that plans are in place for the book to be made more widely available in the future, this text could imply that the time capsule section will remain entirely exclusive to LEGO.com. Considering the contents of the time capsule, it seems unlikely that this would affect the price in a major way.

Being sold outside of the LEGO Group’s business bubble could mean that the book has a chance of being discounted more often than on LEGO.com, but it’s equally likely that this text is simply referring to the book being available within LEGO stores without the time capsule.

Nothing has been confirmed at the time of writing though the new text on the product page implies that the time capsule is an additional incentive for picking up 5008878 The Force of Creativity on LEGO.com. You can grab a copy now for £129.99 / $149.99 / €149.99 following a lengthy pre-order period and be well on your way to a free 40692 Candy Store too until the end of the month.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
