Seven LEGO Star Wars vehicles and ships we’ve somehow never seen

After 25 years of LEGO Star Wars sets, you’d be forgiven for thinking we’d seen just about every vehicle and ship a galaxy far, far away had to offer.

It’s been a huge year for LEGO Star Wars so far, with the theme celebrating its 25th anniversary in style in 2024. Over the past few months we’ve been treated to new sets, a selection of exclusive minifigures, GWPs and Insiders rewards, with many more models still to come.

With a quarter of a century of builds under its belt, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the LEGO Star Wars design team must have recreated (and remade) just about every single ship and vehicle from across the entire nine-film live-action saga.

However, that’s definitely not the case and there are many more that have yet to appear in brick-built form. From the prequels to the OG trilogy and the sequels, here’s a look at seven such craft that we’ve somehow never seen as LEGO Star Wars sets.

7 – More podracers

Sure, a selection of podracer models have been released over the years, with the most recent being 75380 Mos Espa Podrace Diorama. However, a total of 18 podracers were glimpsed during the Boonta Eve event in The Phantom Menace, with each vehicle piloted by its own distinctive character.

With that in mind, we’re hoping the LEGO Star Wars theme eventually gets round to releasing podracers based on the craft belonging to Mawhonic, Ratts Tyrell, Ody Mandrell, Teemto Pagalies, Gran and the rest of those obscure alien faces at some point in the future.

6 – Mon Calamari Star Cruiser

Recent rumours suggest that 2025 could be another exciting year for the LEGO Star Wars theme, with at least six new models potentially arriving on January 1. Included in that line-up may be 75405 Home One, a midscale build that might be part of the expanding LEGO Star Wars Starship Collection.

However, what we’d really like to see is a much larger version of the Rebel Alliance craft. 7754 Home One Mon Calamari Star Cruiser arrived in 2009, but represented only a small section of the lumpy capital ship. An Ultimate Collector Series version would therefore seem to be a more obvious choice, one that would finally do justice to the sheer scale of the vessel.

5 – First Order UA-TT Walker

Although barely glimpsed in The Rise of Skywalker, the UA-TT Walker represents an evolution of both the Clone Wars-era AT-AP and the Empire’s AT-ST. In Episode IX, the three-legged walker is used by the First Order to patrol the streets of Kijimi and stamp out any Resistance forces, although it only appears in a few fleeting scenes.

The Urban Assault Triped Transport would certainly make for a unique LEGO Star Wars set, with a large captivator arm offering some interesting play options, chin-mounted double laser cannons and room for a First Order pilot minifigure to be placed inside the cockpit.

4 – Trade Federation Landing Ship

One of a handful of craft seen in the very first trailer for The Phantom Menace, the Trade Federation Landing Ship has yet to appear in brick-built form at all. Although versions of the craft have popped up in LEGO Star Wars video games over the years, no physical C-9979 sets have been created to date.

The Trade Federation Landing Ship would seem to present a number of play and display opportunities, with the possibility for both smaller or larger scale versions of the ship. Offer up opening doors to fit mini AATs, MTTs, vulture droids and more inside the hangar and we’d definitely be sold on such a set.

3 – The Fulminatrix

Making its debut in The Last Jedi, the Fulminatrix is a Mandator IV-class Siege Dreadnought employed by the First Order. Unleashing a deadly orbital bombardment on the Resistance base on D’Qar, the ship is ultimately destroyed in an attack by Poe Dameron and MG-100 StarFortress bombers.

The huge warship would also seem to be a likely candidate for a potential LEGO Star Wars Starship Collection set at some stage. We therefore suspect it’s just a matter of time then before this massive fleet-killer emerges from hyperspace to join the subtheme.

2 – Trade Federation Droid Control Ship

Another prequel-era craft that’s yet to be translated into a full LEGO Star Wars set is the Trade Federation Droid Control Ship, although a tiny version of a Trade Federation Battleship did appear in the 2020 advent calendar. The vessel played a key role in The Phantom Menace, with young Anakin Skywalker eventually destroying it and putting an end to the Trade Federation’s invasion of Naboo.

The unique look of the Trade Federation Droid Control Ship would certainly prove to be a challenge for the LEGO Star Wars design team to figure out how to recreate and would fit well into the LEGO Star Wars Starship Collection. Having the ability to switch out some elements to rework the vessel as a standard Trade Federation Battleship would be much appreciated too.

1 – The Supremacy

Also making its debut in The Last Jedi was the Supremacy, a 60 kilometre-wide flying wing that served as Supreme Leader Snoke’s throne room and a mobile capital for the First Order. The massive ship was eventually torn in two when Vice Admiral Holdo sent the Raddus into hyperspace and straight through the larger craft.

For a ship of this scale, we’d suggest either going smaller and adding the vessel to the LEGO Star Wars Starship Collection or bigger and creating a gigantic UCS version. The latter option would certainly allow for much more detail to be added to the formidable craft, along with several tiny First Order Star Destroyers floating nearby to show just how huge the Supremacy really is.

6 – Mon Calamari Star Cruiser wasn’t that just announced as a midi scale ship

What about a Rebel GR-75 transport, per the escape from Hoth? Say, in midi-scale?
