LEGO summer 2024 sets sell out, but not the models you’d expect
Several LEGO summer 2024 sets have already sold out after less than a day of being available online, but the selection may be surprising.
Note that any sold-out sets are only temporarily out of stock and it’s unlikely that any of these models will suddenly retire before they can be restocked.
In the UK and Europe, 75391 Captain Rex Y-Wing Microfighter is sold out and the LEGO Star Wars set is on back order in the US as fans seem to want the Captain Rex minifigure that was previously exclusive to 75367 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser. Similarly, 60424 Jungle Explorer ATV Red Panda Mission is out of stock in the UK and Europe but remains in stock in the US and this is the least expensive LEGO City set to include the new Johnny Thunder minifigure. Given the minifigures in both sets, this wasn’t unexpected.
Notably, while 43247 Young Simba the Lion King remains in stock worldwide, 43243 Simba the Lion King Cub is sold out but only in the UK, though the more affordable Lion King model may be a similarly expected popular pick of the summer 2024 selection.
Further up the price ranges, 60440 Yellow Delivery Truck has proven popular as it is on back order in the UK and out of stock in Europe. In Europe, 21349 Tuxedo Cat has proven to be popular too as it is on back order, though only for less than a week at the time of writing.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the cultural significance in Europe, 21061 Notre-Dame de Paris is on back order until July 9 in Europe too.
Despite the many models that have sold out, the likes of 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr, 76435 Hogwarts Castle: The Great Hall and other heavy-hitters of the summer 2024 range have not sold out at all just yet, though the corresponding gift-with-purchase for 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr hasn’t had the same luck.
There may still be stock of the sold-out models in your local LEGO store, though there’s no guarantee without checking ahead of time by using the stock checker on LEGO.com or calling ahead. It’s also worth keeping in mind that several summer 2024 waves have yet to launch in the US at the time of writing, being held for August as is usually the case.
