LEGO takes down short-lived building instructions survey

The LEGO Group has swiftly taken down a short-lived survey asking LEGO Insiders about whether to keep or scrap physical building instructions.

The LEGO Group has seemingly got the message one way or another, taking down a survey asking LEGO Insiders their opinions about digital versus physical building instructions after just a few hours. The survey sparked fury among some of the loudest voices in the community, with many people taking to social media to voice their displeasure at the very idea of phasing out physical instructions.

There are various different reasons for the unpopularity of the idea. For some people, it comes down to nostalgia, with many people enjoying collecting instruction booklets almost as much as the LEGO sets themselves. For others, it’s an accessibility issue: not everyone has access to the internet and not everyone can read digital instructions as easily as physical instructions.

Whatever the reason, it seems that the LEGO Group has well and truly got the message, taking the survey down from the ‘Activities’ section within the LEGO Insiders tab on the online store. While we can’t say for sure what this means for the future of instructions, it certainly seems that further discussion within the company will be taking place,
