LEGO might have just teased an upcoming LEGO Star Wars battle pack

In a shady area of a commemorative LEGO Star Wars The Clone Wars poster, there might be a subtle hint at an upcoming LEGO Star Wars battle pack.

There are 20 references to The Clone Wars packed into this 20-year anniversary poster (free to download in the LEGO Insiders Rewards Centre) – including a potential clue for an upcoming battle pack. In a shadowy corner of the poster, you can see the outline of an octuptarra tri-droid, much like one that appeared in 2014’s 75036 Utapau Troopers.

However, there are some notable differences in the poster droid’s shape, with the flick-fire missiles visible slightly higher up and the upper part of the legs is made from a 1×2 tile and a 1×2 curved slope, rather than the 1×3 curved slope on the 2014 version. The head of the droid is also much more circular than the more dome-like shape seen in 75036 Utapau Troopers. As such, this suggests the LEGO Group is giving us a sneak peek of a redesigned tri-droid build.

This would line up neatly with the rumoured 75372 Clone Trooper & Battle Droid Battle Pack, first reported by Promobricks and with further information coming later from Max Börnicke1414falconfan, and Brickmerge. Pulling from all of those sources, we’ve heard that the potential LEGO Star Wars battle pack is the price (€29.99) and piece count (215), both of which suggest it’s larger than the usual battle pack. It’s also believed to include up to 10 minifigures, including the return of three Super Battle Droids, and feature a two-seater speeder bike and turret, and (most importantly) an Octuptarra droid.

Notably, there are the outlines of three Super Battle Droids standing in a line right next to the tri-droid in the poster, adding further fuel to the fire. Another potential new feature in 75372 Clone Trooper & Battle Droid Battle Pack could also be hinted at, with a Coruscant Guard Clone Trooper with binoculars just visible in front of the tri-droid, something that we’ve not yet seen in a LEGO Star Wars set.

All in all, the LEGO Group could well be hiding a sneak peek at an upcoming battle pack in a composite poster of sets both old and new from the Clone Wars era. We’ll have to wait until we get an official reveal to know whether our deductions are correct, so take our speculation with a pinch of salt for now.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
