LEGO Technic 1970 Apollo Moon Rover rumoured for 2024

LEGO Technic is rumoured to be expanding its NASA mission line-up with a massive new model in 2024 depicting an iconic rover.

Instagram user exabrickslego_go, who has been correct in the past, reports that 42182 1970 Apollo Moon Rover will be coming in the summer of 2024.

Rumoured to be available for $249.99 in June 2024, this would be the second rover model in the theme in recent months as the modern 42158 NASA Mars Rover Perseverance is available now, though at a lesser price of £84.99 / $99.99 / €94.99.

The rumoured price suggests that 42182 1970 Apollo Moon Rover could be significantly bigger, possibly one of the largest LEGO homages to the 1970s space missions ever. 92176 NASA Apollo Saturn V featured 1,969 pieces for £104.99 / $119.99 / €119.99 but a $249.99 Technic set could surpass it in size as well as price.

Provided this report is accurate, you may want to consider picking up 10266 NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander to go alongside it before it retires at the end of the year. However, the LEGO Technic set is still only a rumour at this time and all information presented should be taken with caution until an official announcement is made. LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
