LEGO The Legend of Zelda has been labelled as a theme again

The LEGO Group and Nintendo may be planning more sets for The Legend of Zelda as more evidence has surfaced that it’s classed as a full theme.

The official LEGO Builder app, which houses digital instructions for hundreds of sets, has been updated with LEGO The Legend of Zelda and 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1.

After the box art and the official online store suggested that the partnership was planned to be a full theme, more evidence of this has surfaced on the app. LEGO The Legend of Zelda is classed as a full theme in the official app alongside the likes of Super Mario, Technic and more.

While this might be a good sign for the future of LEGO The Legend of Zelda, it’s not quite confirmation that more sets are on the way as Nintendo may not have wanted the franchise to be grouped under LEGO Icons, as LEGO The Lord of the Rings is in the app.

Notably, LEGO The Lord of the Rings is listed as a theme alongside LEGO The Legend of Zelda on the official online store and now features a couple of huge sets and many BrickHeadz packs. LEGO Stranger Things received similar treatment when it was available despite featuring one massive model and a BrickHeadz double pack.

Exactly why LEGO The Legend of Zelda is individually listed in LEGO Builder is unclear but it’s another sign that the LEGO Group and Nintendo intend the partnership to continue, possibly adopting the same strategy as LEGO The Lord of the Rings. It could also be down to Nintendo’s preference for its franchises though. Hopefully, we’ll know what the future holds in due course.

In the meantime, the release date for 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1 is near as September 1 is only a few weeks away at the time of writing. Pre-orders for the set are still open too in case you want to score a free trophy build to go alongside it.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
