Mark Zuckerberg teases LEGO for Meta Connect 2023

Mark Zuckerberg is using LEGO to tease the upcoming Meta Connect 2023, suggesting that there’s something brick-based at the event.

Over on Instagram, Mark Zuckerberg of Meta has updated his story with a reel of 3D LEGO clouds and a series of numbers, teasing a date that just so happens to be when the Meta Connect 2023 event starts – September 27, 2023.

The LEGO connection is confirmed when taking a closer look at the bricks, which clearly have the LEGO indentation on their studs. Considering their awareness, Zuckerberg and Meta likely wouldn’t have access to and use these models to tease the event unless as part of an existing partnership with the LEGO Group.

The use of AR technology in the teaser may be linked to a future project to be revealed by Meta tomorrow. Some kind of LEGO building experience in augmented reality doesn’t appear to be out of the question based on this teaser.

Exactly what is being revealed, and whether or not it links to LEGO, will be unveiled tomorrow at Meta Connect 2023. The keynote, which seems likely to have the major announcements, is being streamed live on Facebook via Meta’s page.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
