More details on rumoured LEGO Harry Potter 2025 sets

Another source has shared more information on the rumoured LEGO Harry Potter 2025 sets, including piece counts and prices for the full January wave.

The first word on next year’s initial Wizarding World line-up – which is said to be bucking the trend by dropping in January rather than March – arrived over the weekend, pointing to a couple of firsts for the theme even this far into its lifespan. Alongside new additions to the latest version of Hogwarts Castle and the inevitable re-run of the Knight Bus, the list includes Malfoy Manor and Hagrid’s motorcycle.

Both of those would mark their debuts in the renewed LEGO Harry Potter theme as full sets, and 76453 Malfoy Manor is even said to be one of the biggest sets in this wave at 1,601 pieces – but it’s still trumped by 76444 Diaogn Alley: Wizarding Shops. This info comes from YouTuber JediJACPenguin, who’s generally considered to be a reliable source in the LEGO community. Dive in set by set below.

76441 Hogwarts Castle: The Dueling Club

Price: $24.99 Pieces: 158 Release date: January 1, 2025

2002’s 4733 The Dueling Club.

Potentially the smallest new addition to the latest modular LEGO Hogwarts system in 2025 (so far), 76441 Hogwarts Castle: The Dueling Club presumably recreates the extracurricular activity from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets that saw Harry reveal his ability to speak Parseltongue. It’s one of the few remaining sets from the original LEGO Harry Potter theme left to be revisited by the modern era.

76442 Hogwarts Castle: Charms Class / Hagrid’s Bike & Sidecar

Price: $19.99 Pieces: 204 Release date: January 1, 2025

JediJACPenguin is unsure which way round the next two sets will arrive, reporting that they’ve seen different lists attribute each set number to each subject matter. That makes a difference because the gulf in price between 76442 and 76443 is relatively large: one is a $20 set with 204 pieces, while the other is a $50 set with 617 pieces. Logically speaking, Hagrid’s motorcycle seems like a better fit for a smaller set (at least if it’s minifigure scale).

76443 Hogwarts Castle: Charms Class / Hagrid’s Bike & Sidecar

Price: $49.99 Pieces: 617 Release date: January 1, 2025

2021’s 76385 Hogwarts Moment: Charms Class.

The other set of the two up in the air at the moment, 76443 feels more likely to be a new classroom for Hogwarts given its size. This summer’s 76431 Hogwarts Castle: Potions Class includes 397 pieces for $39.99, but sits in the dungeons, so it wouldn’t be difficult to imagine a Charms Class bumping up the piece count to sit on top of a new underground section of the school. Or it could just be a large buildable Harry and Hagrid on their bike, which would explain the price to piece ratio.

76444 Diagon Alley: Wizarding Shops

Price: $199.99 Pieces: 2,750 Release date: January 1, 2025

2018’s 40289 Diagon Alley.

Your eyes do not deceive you: that is a $200, nearly-3,000-piece LEGO Harry Potter set said to be debuting in January 2025. You can stop hoping for an expansion to 75978 Diagon Alley, though – according to JediJACPenguin, 76444 Diagon Alley: Wizarding Shops is actually a microscale 18+ set, presumably doing for the shopping street what 76419 Hogwarts Castle and Grounds does for the wizarding school. Expect an Architecture-like display piece with equivalent detail.

76446 The Knight Bus

Price: $49.99 Pieces: 499 Release date: January 1, 2025

2019’s 75957 The Knight Bus.

The LEGO Harry Potter theme has consistently returned to key icons from the franchise since relaunching in 2018, so it’s no surprise to see its triple-decker transport getting another go in 76446 The Knight Bus. The last version of this set dropped in 2019 with 403 pieces for $39.99, so that extra 25% boost in size and budget could bring us something visually distinct from its predecessor.

76447 Hogwarts Castle: Flying Lesson

Price: $79.99 Pieces: 651 Release date: January 1, 2025

2021’s 76395 Hogwarts: First Flying Lesson.

The biggest new LEGO Hogwarts set in 2025 is said to be 76447 Hogwarts Castle: Flying Lesson, coming in at 651 pieces for $79.99. That’s a good deal bigger and more expensive than 2021’s 76395 Hogwarts: First Flying Lesson, which included 264 pieces for $29.99, so it’ll be interesting to see where that increased budget goes: could we get a grassy patch, for example?

76453 Malfoy Manor

Price: $149.99 Pieces: 1,601 Release date: January 1, 2025

Billed as the biggest minifigure-scale set of the LEGO Harry Potter January 2025 wave, 76453 Malfoy Manor is rumoured to exceed 1,600 pieces for $150. That’s the kind of budget that could do justice to a location frequently requested by Wizarding World fans, so here’s hoping it unlocks something special – and serves up a fully-fleshed out cast of characters to go alongside it.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
