More details revealed for LEGO Art 31213 Mona Lisa

A new marketing post for the upcoming LEGO Art 31213 Mona Lisa has revealed a surprising number of details and Easter eggs for the set.

The LEGO Group’s latest post on Instagram is all about 31213 Mona Lisa – what will be the latest addition to LEGO Art when the recreation of an iconic work of art launches later this year.

Don’t overlook this promotional post though as there are quite a few details to discover within it, including confirmation that the set includes the most drum-lacquered gold elements in a model so far.

Also revealed in the post is the fact that 31213 Mona Lisa‘s colour scheme is deliberately chosen to be a homage to the original colour scheme of the painting, rather than the yellowed colour scheme that the painting features today.

Similarly, the set’s 1,503 piece count pays tribute to the year that the art began to be painted, much like 92176 NASA Apollo Saturn V. The post offers some insight into just how much thought goes into the LEGO sets that land on shelves.

LEGO Art 31213 Mona Lisa launches on October 1, 2024, and you can pre-order your copy now on the official online store for £89.99 / $99.99 / €99.99.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
