Multi-time LEGO Ideas 10K club member strikes again
The latest LEGO Ideas project to make it past 10,000 supporters might look familiar, with the fan designer already having multiple other fully supported designs behind them.
Fan designer Baron von Barron is back with another LEGO Ideas design that’s earned 10,000 supporters, making this their seventh one to do so. Three were ultimately rejected but three remain under review in different LEGO Ideas rounds. The latest design is Summit Station, a detailed build that recreates the station of a railway at the top of a mountain. It builds upon a former LEGO Ideas submission, Rack Railway.
“[Rack Railway] only included the lower terminus, so ever since then, I’ve always had the latent gut feeling that without an upper counterpart, there’s somehow something missing after all,” explained the fan designer.
There are plenty of details contained within the build, including the radio station with radome and weather measuring devices, a vault with storeroom and dormitory, a rack railway with catenary and electric railcar, and a number of minifigures, such as an innkeeper, cook, employee, conductor, scientist, climber, fisherman, and two hikers.
Summit Station also features some interactive features, like how the railcar can travel up and then hold its position automatically, along with levers that release it back down the track. The fireplace can also light up by tapping on the chimney.
Summit Station becomes the fifth station to enter the third 2024 LEGO Ideas review. Remind yourself of the competition below.
