New LEGO Ideas book nook project has unfortunate timing

The first 2024 LEGO Ideas review continues to grow with a book nook build which has some unfortunate timing after an announcement this week.

Pedro_RuizMx’s Booknook: The Story Laboratory has hit 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas, earning it a spot in the first 2024 LEGO Ideas review and giving it a chance at becoming a future LEGO Ideas set.

This take on a LEGO book nook is one of the most detailed yet, featuring shelves of secrets and references to discover, dynamic angled builds and plenty of colours as well as space to pose five proposed minifigures.

The book nook is intended to be placed between non-LEGO books but brick-built titles are suggested in the submission. It’s not the first book-centric project from the LEGO Group after 21315 Pop-Up Book as well as the more recent 43227 Villain Icons.

A book nook project has just this week been rejected as part of the second 2023 LEGO Ideas review round. That doesn’t necessarily mean that this submission has less of a chance though. For now, it joins 47 other projects in a huge review round.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
