New LEGO Mini Hobby Series to replace Bricktober

Bricktober will be replaced with a new LEGO Mini Hobby Series in collaboration with Toys R Us in the Asia Pacific region.

Starting today, a new LEGO promotion is available in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and partially in Canada via Toys R Us, called the LEGO Mini Hobby Series. It features a series of small builds revolving around various hobbies, from bowling and camping to arcade gaming and baking. Each week until the end of October, there will be a new mini-build to collect as a GWP when you spend $55 on any LEGO sets.

Seeing as Toys R Us Canada lists them as part of the Bricktober deals, this new series appears to be replacing Bricktober for 2023. In the past Bricktober sets have come to other regions as LEGO VIP Rewards, so there could still be a chance to get your hands on them if you’re not in the participating regions through LEGO Insiders. We’ll see if they come as LEGO Insiders Rewards in the future. Note that Toys R Us Canada also has some of the builds but not all of them.

Each mini-build has a slot of between four to five days where it becomes available with the minimum spend, as noted below:

lego

  • Bowling: September 22 – September 27
  • Camping: September 28 – October 2
  • Car Racing: October 3 – October 8
  • Music: October 9 – October 13
  • Baking: October 14 – October 18
  • Arcade Gaming: October 19 – October 23

Every build is representative of each hobby, with a tiny piano for music and an electric mixer for baking, for example. Each miniature set sits on a brick-built stand, complete with what appears to be blue transparent elements for a lit-up effect.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
