Full list of retiring dates for every new LEGO set – Star Wars, Mario and more

Here’s a complete round-up of initial retiring dates for every LEGO set revealed in the last month, including 75388 Jedi Bob’s Starfighter and 71438 Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi.

The LEGO Group hasn’t made many changes to its current list of retiring LEGO sets for August, as the selection of sets leaving shelves in 2024 is pretty much locked in at this point. But there are plenty of new additions to the list through sets revealed in July, so if you’re the kind of collector who plans out years of purchases using far-off retirement dates, those could be useful for you.

Bear in mind that retirement dates for new releases are most liable to change, so don’t treat these as gospel for now. But they do give some indication as to the LEGO Group’s wider plans for each one: will they be the kind of fleeting release that disappears within a year to 18 months, or will they be a constant presence on shelves for years to come?

Both 75388 Jedi Bob’s Starfighter and 75374 The Onyx Cinder are currently slated to retire by the end of 2025, for example, while 71438 Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi is already being handed an extra year in production with a retirement date of December 31, 2026. At the moment, only the latest 18+ LEGO Super Mario set and 40743 Christmas Table Decoration are planned to stay on shelves into 2026. We’d expect that to change for at least 75388 Jedi Bob’s Starfighter if it proves as popular as 75333 Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Jedi Starfighter, which will enter its fourth calendar year on shelves in 2025, and perhaps 77073 Battle Bus as the flagship LEGO Fortnite set.

Time will tell, but you can keep track of any and all changes by bookmarking our complete list of retiring LEGO sets. For now, head here to check out the full rundown of LEGO sets retiring in 2024 to see what to prioritise within the next few months.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
