Rumoured details spotted in new LEGO NINJAGO trailer

The brand new LEGO NINJAGO Dragons Rising Season 2 features a few easily missed moments that seem to correspond to rumoured details.

The first full trailer for the upcoming second season of LEGO NINJAGO Dragons Rising has dropped, offering a closer look at the adventures to come next month or later this month for some regions.

Moving through the trailer frame by frame, we’ve spotted some interesting moments that may look familiar to those who have read the recent LEGO NINJAGO rumours. While everything discussed here is in the new trailer, keep in mind that spoilers will be featured.

Polish LEGO fan site Fanklockow reports that 71822 Fire Source Dragon will have as many as six other dragons as spirits. While this might sound strange, there are seven Source Dragons in LEGO NINJAGO Dragons Rising and one could be included as the main model of the build.

The other six may be represented by the rumoured smaller spirit dragons using one piece each. While Lloyd is struggling with strange visions in the trailer, glowing representations of small dragons can be seen flying around him. While nothing has been officially confirmed, it’s plausible that these are the spirit dragons mentioned in the rumour.

71818 Tournament Arena Battle is rumoured to feature several minifigures including Kai and Sora in tournament armour, Evil Jay, the Wolf Warrior, and exclusive versions of Tox and Cinder. While you might be drawn towards the return of Tox, Evil Jay is arguably the more interesting inclusion in the report. Jay is the only ninja not to return to the team after the merge as the rest of the crew don’t know that he is working at The Administration, likely having lost his memories.

That’s the perfect setup for Jay to return as an antagonist, but hopefully temporarily. The trailer just so happens to feature a frame of Sora being zapped by lightning, of which Jay is the Elemental Master. This may just be one of Lloyd’s visions but it similarly corresponds to a rumoured detail – that Jay is back as a villain.

No NINJAGO summer 2024 rumours have been confirmed at the time of writing and you should take all reported information with caution until an announcement is made. The next season of LEGO NINJAGO Dragons Rising is starting soon and you can watch the new trailer by clicking here.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
