Rumoured LEGO Fortnite GWP may not be a GWP after all

A rumoured LEGO Fortnite set originally thought to be a GWP might actually be an entirely different kind of set altogether.

While four LEGO Fortnite sets have been officially revealed, the original rumours first reported back in February also suggested that there would be a GWP accompanying the sets when they launch on October 1. However, the latest rumours reported by fateful_lego on Instagram suggest that it won’t be a gift with purchase after all.

Instead, it’s believed that 40728 Brite Bomber will be a LEGO Fortnite BrickHeadz set, available to buy for $9.99. That would fit with the set number (although it could also apply to a GWP for what it’s worth). However, the piece count of 151 did seem to be pretty high, leading us to originally believe it would be a pretty substantial GWP. It makes perhaps more sense for that piece count to fit with a LEGO BrickHeadz model.

If true, the LEGO Fortnite BrickHeadz is thought to depict Brite Bomber, the pink-haired avatar that has long since been the central face of LEGO Fortnite.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
