Rumoured LEGO Spider-Man Spider-Verse set needs one thing

An official LEGO Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse is rumoured for January 2025 and there’s one thing it would need thanks to an iconic scene.

Rumours for LEGO Marvel in January 2025 via Instagram user brick_clicker include the first official set based on the second Spider-Verse movie – 76311 Spider-Verse: Miles Morales vs The Spot. Spoilers, but Across the Spider-Verse features a scene within a LEGO universe, animated by the talented Preston Mutanga at 14 years old.

Mutanga’s involvement in the movie and the story behind how he was selected to animate the scene is nothing short of inspirational and has created an intrinsic LEGO connection to the movie long before the rumoured set. Given this, you could argue that a build based on the franchise is inevitable, whether the rumour is true or not.

Now, an official LEGO Spider-Verse set could finally become a reality according to new rumours and it would be great to see a reference to Mutanga’s scene in the rumoured set. This could be through a minifigure of this multiversal version of Spider-Man since the minifigure featured in the film is a familiar design or via a printed Easter egg.

With any luck, there’ll be room for two Spider-Man minifigures or some kind of reference in the rumoured set, provided it’s coming to shelves in early 2025 as is reported. Take it with caution for now though just in case anything turns out to be inaccurate. Exactly what the build may be is unknown but there are quite a few scenes that could inspire models.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
