Rumoured LEGO Star Wars 2025 ARC-170 Starfighter could be an upgrade

LEGO Star Wars’ early 2025 selection is rumoured to include the first ARC-170 Starfighter in 15 years and it’s said to be a considerable upgrade.

The ARC-170 Starfighter has only received a handful of sets throughout the 25 years of LEGO Star Wars but 2025 is rumoured to feature the sixth take on the ship and likely the third at minifigure scale.

Specifically, Instagram user brick_clicker reports that 75402 ARC-170 Starfighter will feature 497 elements for £59.99 / $69.99, making it potentially much larger than 2015’s 75072 ARC-170 Starfighter Microfighter.

It’s also bigger than 2005’s 7259 ARC-170 Fighter for £29.99 / $40.00 as well as 2010’s 8088 ARC-170 Starfighter for £49.99 / $59.99.

Both previous builds were made up of 396 pieces with four minifigures each. 75402 ARC-170 Starfighter is rumoured to include 101 more pieces than either model and while the number of minifigures has not been confirmed, it’s still a massive increase in the piece count that could maintain the footprint of the previous builds while adding further detail.

That doesn’t necessarily mean that the rumoured 2025 ARC-170 Starfighter will be bigger than that of 2005 and 2010 though as LEGO Star Wars in recent years has been demonstrating a trend toward smaller vehicles with varying increases and decreases in the part count. The evolution of the TIE Fighter from between 2018 to 2024 is an example of this, though in that instance the price has fluctuated just as much.

Whatever size the rumoured 75402 ARC-170 Starfighter may turn out to be, it’s still a rumour for now and should be taken with caution. It’s still no less exciting to be potentially getting another depiction of the unique Star Wars ship for the first time in ten years, or 15 since a minifigure-scale version.

Is it a typo or are you actually comparing a 500 pcs set with a micro-scale?

seems an improper use of “huge”. I’ve read the article thinking it’s similar to the UCS Falcon in terms of dimensions. You’re a very nice site, please don’t do click and bait
