Scannable codes are back for LEGO Dungeons & Dragons CMFs – download Brick Search now

The scannable data matrix codes on Collectible Minifigures boxes are back for the newly-revealed LEGO 71047 Dungeons & Dragons series, so get ready for launch by downloading Brick Search now.

Brick Fanatics has two sleeves of 71047 Dungeons & Dragons minifigures in hand for review, and while the full embargo is lifting soon, we can confirm that the boxes once again include scannable data matrix codes that reveal the contents of each pack. These were first introduced with 71045 Series 25 in January following the switch to cardboard boxes from foil bags, and then used again with 71046 Series 26 Space.

Both those series were scannable using Brick Search (available now on iOS and Android), and the same will be true of 71047 Dungeons & Dragons when the new series hits shelves in September. The Brick Search team is already hard at work adding codes from Brick Fanatics’ review copy to the app, so you’ll once again be able to find whichever minifigures you’re interested in simply by pointing your phone at the boxes.

That will make collecting a full set of 12 minifigures as easy as it was with the previous two series, and also opens the door to picking up multiples of your faves. Given more than half of 71047 Dungeons & Dragons’ line-up consists of generic classes and races that can be mixed and matched, this is one series that really lends itself to army building.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
