Six films perfect for rumoured LEGO Disney 43248 Pixar

Another LEGO Pixar set is rumoured for next year and, similar to 43217 ‘Up’ House, this may be a chance for another Pixar first for LEGO Disney.

As reported recently, the listed 43248 is rumoured to be a Pixar model of some kind for €34.99 and with 394 pieces for release in May 2024. While the likes of Cars and Toy Story have been covered multiple times as part of LEGO Disney, the theme hasn’t been afraid to debut new films over the past year.

For the 100th anniversary of Disney, the release of 43226 Disney Duos, 43217 ‘Up’ House and 43221 100 Years of Disney Animation Icons introduced several movies to the LEGO portfolio. With this change, there are more possibilities than ever before for what the rumoured Pixar creation could be based on, though nothing has been officially confirmed.

Keeping that in mind, here are six films that could be perfect for a future LEGO Disney set, some of which have almost had a chance already.

Monsters, Inc.

Multiple projects on LEGO Ideas based on Monsters, Inc. have been proposed on LEGO Ideas but only one has made it into a review round. Though the movie has featured in 43221 100 Years of Disney Animation Icons, there seems to be at least some demand for a full-sized model.

Finding Nemo

Fidning Nemo has been recently introduced to LEGO Disney thanks to 43226 Disney Duos but the figures only include Squirt and Nemo. More brick-built figures of Marlin, Dory and Crush could further fill out the cast of characters for a complete homage to the film.

Ratatouille

Ratatouille has a few unapproved projects on LEGO Ideas, many of which come from the same user – BRICK PROJECT. It too is included in 43221 100 Years of Disney Animation Icons but at least 10,000 people want to see the film receive a sizable LEGO set. The listed 394 piece count might mean a slight downgrade from the LEGO Ideas submissions though.

Inside Out

Inside Out projects on LEGO Ideas have proposed minifigures of the uniquely-stylised characters. However, brick-built figures may be a better fit to complement their individual appearances and personality, just as Lance M has envisioned.

Coco

Coco recently received a pair of minifigures in 71038 Disney 100 and has a small cameo in 43221 100 Years of Disney Animation Icons but the 2018 LEGO Incredibles sets were preceded by a fair of minifigures based on the film in the first LEGO Disney Collectable Minifigures Series. Whether history will repeat has yet to be seen.

Turning Red

Turning Red could work as a minifigure-based model, as proposed on LEGO Ideas by SoldaatVitaleWu or as a brick-built figure similar to the build from legofolk. It might necessitate some new bricks though, similar to 43217 ‘Up’ House.
