Smile for the camera with latest LEGO Ideas 10K club member
The latest LEGO Ideas project to reach 10K proves the community isn’t done with brick-built cameras just yet.
The beginning of 2024 saw the release of LEGO Ideas 21345 Polaroid OneStep SX-70 Camera, an authentically designed version of the iconic Polaroid camera, down to the shutter button and film. Now, another fan designer has thrown a similar project into the ring, with 10,000 people agreeing that the theme has room for two LEGO cameras.
Zung92’s LEGO ZH1 – Working and Functional 35mm Film Camera is a fully functional 35mm film camera using only existing LEGO parts, with an opening back to reveal the inner workings. The designer has made every effort to root the build in the right time period, even including the LEGO logo from 1934.
Authenticity and practicality are two key considerations for this would-be LEGO Ideas set, with a compact body made of 595 pieces that is entirely lightproof. Other features include a magnifying piece for the lens, developed with a special pinhole lens that produces unique effects.
LEGO ZH1 – Working and Functional 35mm Film Camera becomes the 30th project in the second LEGO Ideas review of 2024. Remind yourself of the set’s competition as it stands in the table below.
