More Star Wars Outlaws world and character details revealed

Upcoming game Star Wars Outlaws has had more gameplay, world and character details revealed, well ahead of its launch.

Coming in 2024 to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, Star Wars Outlaws was revealed in June at Ubisoft Forward, including an extended gameplay reveal.

However, there’s plenty more to see from the game and some of team behind the title have detailed what else players can expect next year.

“The size of one planet might be about two of the zones in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey,” said creative director Julian Gerighty to Edge Magazine via GamesRadar.

“It could be two to three zones. But it’s not, you know, this sort of epic approach such as recreating the whole of England.”

It seems likely that Gerighty is referencing Assassin’s Creed Valhalla in the second part of the quote. For context, three zones from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is a considerable size, especially with multiple planets in the game.

It’s also been confirmed that none of the planets or locations have been procedurally generated, instead being entirely handcrafted by the development team.

Another interview named a few inspirations for protagonist Kay Vess, including Han Solo, Jack Sparrow, Indiana Jones and James Bond. However, Kay is more akin to a petty thief getting into a situation much bigger than her current standing.

It’s an interesting look at Star Wars Outlaws while we wait for the next major reveal and should help to set expectations ahead of the game’s release in 2024.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
