Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Disney+ release date revealed

The release date for the upcoming Star Wars: Skeleton Crew TV series has been revealed, alongside hints of what to expect from the Disney+ show.

Earlier today, the LEGO Group finally officially revealed 75374 The Onyx Cinder, the first (and so far only) model to be based on the upcoming Star Wars: Skeleton Crew TV series. The LEGO Star Wars set drops out of the blue on August 1, priced at £124.99 / $139.99 / €139.99.

In addition to the surprise announcement, PEOPLE has exclusively revealed when Star Wars: Skeleton Crew will be arriving on Disney+ for all subscribers. The long-awaited (and delayed) live-action show wrapped back in January of this year, but so far we’ve yet to see a trailer for the series.

The good news is that fans only have to hold on for a few more months to dive into the series, when Star Wars: Skeleton Crew drops on Disney+ on December 3. The show stars Jude Law as Jod Na Nawood in what’s being described as a coming-of-age story, alongside child actors Ravi Cabot-Conyers (Wim), Kyriana Kratter (KB), Robert Timothy Smith (Neel) and Ryan Kiera Armstrong (Fern).

The official synopsis for the show states, “When four kids make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet, they get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Finding their way home, meeting unlikely allies and enemies will be a greater adventure than they ever imagined.”

The article goes on to provide exclusive images of the cast, which includes a cranky new droid named SM-33 (voiced by Nick Frost), speeder bike action and the cast in what appears to be the cockpit of The Onyx Cinder.

In addition, fans are told they can expect ‘a lot of Easter eggs’ in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew that pay homage to the OG trilogy. “If you look carefully, [we] got some Star Wars tech that dates right back, I believe, to the original film,” said Jude Law. “They do [Easter eggs] so well. That’s one of the joys I think of this universe for those who know there are these little details always hidden away or Easter eggs that people can find and link up.”

Ahead of the show’s arrival on Disney+ on December 1, you’ll be able pick up 75374 The Onyx Cinder, with the LEGO Star Wars set launching August 1 for £124.99 / $139.99 / €139.99.
