Tennis superstar Iga Swiatek shares unique LEGO sets made just for her

Check out the one-of-a-kind sets built just for LEGO-loving tennis player Iga Swiatek, designed for her over the years by the LEGO Group.

The women’s singles no.1 has spoken before about how her love for LEGO helps her play better on the courts and she recently celebrated her 23rd birthday in true LEGO style. LEGO Poland sent Swiatek a number of personalised LEGO sets, both for her birthday and at other times, showcasing some highly personalised designs.

That includes a replica clay court and a brick-built version of Swiatek’s Tecnifibre racket. The clay court was designed to represent Swiatek’s four Roland Garros championships and also the court in Warsaw where Swiatek first played tennis as a child.

“It was totally personalised for me,” the tennis champion told Forbes. “Using Friends characters, [there’s] Polish football player Robert Lewandowski watching my match and many more little surprises that they hid for me in the LEGO set. I appreciate the LEGO team’s creativity a lot. It’s a whole new level of what people’s imagination can do.”

The build is sizabl;e enough to include every detail, measuring 24 inches long, 23 inches wide, and 10 inches tall and made from over 11,000 bricks. It featured a whopping 224 minifigures, many inspired by Swiatek’s personal life, such as her dad, sisters and a collection of fans with a banner reading “Raszyn rulez!” to celebrate her hometown. There’s a special sign for ‘Iga’s Bakery’ as well as an extra personal touch.

Forbes reports that it took LEGO Master Builder Matthew Kustra and his two-person team nearly six months to create and build. LEGO regional senior manager for brand relations and events Andrea Faflíková told the publication that: “Through such sets, we want to convey that imagination has no boundaries and that you can create anything from LEGO bricks and rebuild it over and over again.”

“Designing these one-of-a-kind Lego sets is a unique and rewarding experience,” she continued. “It allows [designers] to connect their creativity with the inspiring stories and values these athletes and other builders might embody.”

Swiatek isn’t the only sportsperson to demonstrate her love for LEGO – or even the only tennis player to receive personalised gifts from the LEGO Group. After Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova talked publicly about being a LEGO fan, the LEGO Group sent her some Wimbledon-themed LEGO gifts as well.
