The LEGO Group launches ‘Unstoppable FC’ with women’s football stars

Four top stars of women’s football have joined forces with the LEGO Group to promote a new global initiative, ‘Unstoppable FC.’

The LEGO Group today announced that it has partnered with some of the top players in UK women’s football to launch ‘Unstoppable FC,’ a new initiative to teach girls self-belief, resilience and other practical skills. Part of the company’s recently-announced ‘Play Unstoppable’ campaign, the latest initiative will kick off with a series of workshops and online content later this year.

Joining the team sheet for ‘Unstoppable FC’ are four top players: England’s Beth Mead, Rachel Daly and Lauren Hemp, and Australia’s Sam Kerr, with the latter making an appearance in minifigure form in 40634 Icons of Play. The 899 piece set launched on June 6 and retails for £89.99 / $99.99 / €99.99. The build includes half a pitch, a spectators’ stand with scoreboard, a winners’ podium, a dug-out for the players and more.

‘Unstoppable FC’ will see the LEGO Group working with such Women’s Super League teams as Arsenal WFC, Aston Villa WFC and Chelsea FC Women to run interactive workshops this Autumn. A series of online content fronted by the four players will also be available, showcasing their own stories of resilience and perseverance and inspiring girls to have the freedom to express themselves fully and play without limits.

Lauren Hemp, ‘Unstoppable FC’ Ambassador, says, “To get to where I am in my career today, I’ve definitely had to learn the art of resilience. It’s all about making sure you’ve got the confidence and self-belief to get back up again when you suffer knocks and coming out the stronger for it. I’m thrilled to be partnering with the LEGO Group to help empower young girls through play to be whoever they want to be.”

40634 Icons of Play is available now priced at £89.99 / $99.99 / €99.99 and can be purchased from LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores. You can find out more about ‘Unstoppable FC’ by checking out the initiative’s dedicated page right here.
