This could be a great week for LEGO Dungeons & Dragons

This could be an incredible week for the LEGO Group’s partnership with Dungeons & Dragons with a returning rare gift and a possible new reveal.

This week is off to a good start for fans of the LEGO Group’s relatively recent partnership with Dungeons & Dragons thanks to the sudden return of the rare 5008325 Mimic Dice Box gift-with-purchase. As noted earlier today, the build was initially offered for a few days after the launch of 21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale earlier this year but quickly sold out. Then, it went on to be sold for high prices secondhand.

Now, it’s back just days before San Diego Comic-Con 2024 is to start and LEGO Dungeons & Dragons is confirmed to have at least some presence at the event.

There’s a Collectible Minifigures series based on the tabletop roleplaying game on the way and the San Diego show seems like a good time to showcase them, but nothing has been confirmed. When they are revealed, they will be the third LEGO Dungeons & Dragons set so far as well as the LEGO Ideas model and the gift-with-purchase and this week could be relevant for all three of them.

Provided that a new LEGO Dungeons & Dragons reveal is scheduled for later this week, the surprise return of 5008325 Mimic Dice Box might make more sense, promoting the partnership’s massive model just before and during the massive pop-culture event. There’s no official confirmation that the upcoming LEGO D&D minifigures will be revealed at San Diego Comic-Con, but it seems plausible given their release in September.

In the meantime, there’s no telling how long 5008325 Mimic Dice Box‘s second run will last worldwide, as well as whether 40692 Candy Store is close to selling out before the deal ends on July 31. 5008325 Mimic Dice Box is only being offered with purchases of 21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale made by LEGO Insiders and 40692 Candy Store is available with orders of £180 / $200 / €200 for LEGO Insiders.

Those aiming to collect every LEGO Dungeons & Dragons set, and who missed the Mimic model the first time around may want to consider picking up the huge build before July 28 at the latest.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
