Three of the best display-ready LEGO Harry Potter sets are already on sale

Interested in starting a LEGO Harry Potter collection but don’t know where to begin? Check out these three display-ready sets, which can all stand alone on a shelf – and are all currently discounted.

Diving into a long-running theme like LEGO Harry Potter can be a daunting prospect, especially if you’re looking to dedicate just a small section of your shelves to something from the Wizarding World. Where do you start? Is it worth even looking at the endless number of Hogwarts sets out there? What are you going to do with all those extra Harry minifigures?

The good news is that the LEGO Group has already thought of all that in its grand quest to build something for everyone. The Wizarding World theme has diversified massively since returning in 2018, and its remit now expands beyond minifigure-scale sets to include microscale models, buildable characters and even plant life.

And among that crop of display-worthy sets are three LEGO Harry Potter icons that each stand really nicely alone – you don’t need a huge collection to display them with – and are all currently discounted at GAME. Those include 76427 Buckbeak, 76429 Talking Sorting Hat and 76433 Mandrake, all 2024 releases that are already 20% off.

76427 Buckbeak builds into an 18cm-tall, 723-piece rendition of Hagrid’s Hippogriff, and can be had for just £44 (down from £54.99). 76429 Talking Sorting Hat is the first LEGO set in years to feature a sound brick, and will sort you into a house when you pop it on your head, for only £72 (saving £18 on its RRP of £89.99).

Finally, 76433 Mandrake is available for just £48 (down from £59.99), and thankfully doesn’t include a sound brick. But it does include 579 pieces, and builds into a model that would sit just as happily among the Botanical Collection as other Harry Potter sets – or, indeed, on its own. These are all great jumping-off points for budding Wizarding World collectors, so you can’t really go wrong.

Head over to GAME to secure any or all of these LEGO Harry Potter sets by clicking through the cards below. I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
