Unreleased LEGO Formula 1 sets spotted in the wild

We’re days away from a stacked grid full of LEGO Icons, Technic, and Speed Champions sets inspired by Formula 1 – and some have already made their way into the world.

Visitors to the Canadian International Autoshow, running until February 25, will be able to get a closer look at a number of the new sets coming to LEGO Icons, Technic, and Speed Champions inspired by real-life Formula 1 cars. The LEGO Group is making 2024 a good year to be a racing fun, with several cars specifically based on Formula 1 race cars.

This ranges from icons from racing history with 10330 McLaren MP4/4 & Ayrton Senna (complete with a commemorative plaque and minifigure for the late driver) up to recent examples of racing engineering at different price points with 42165 Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance Pull-Back and 42171 Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance joining LEGO Technic.

The latter is one of those cars available to view fully built ahead of its release date on March 1 at the Canadian International Autoshow. Although this isn’t a chance to get your hands on the set early, you can get a greater sense of the detail and size of the LEGO Technic set.

Elsewhere at the exhibition, you can also find the LEGO Technic set’s younger sibling, 42165 Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance Pull-Back, as well as 10330 McLaren MP4/4 & Ayrton Senna and 76919 2023 McLaren Formula 1 Race Car. What’s particularly interesting here is seeing 10330 McLaren MP4/4 & Ayrton Senna‘s dramatic angle you can achieve with the brick-built display stand that’s included in action.
