Two LEGO movies returning to cinemas for 100 years of Warner Bros

Two LEGO movies are returning to cinema screens in the UK to celebrate 100 years of Warner Bros., the studio responsible for bringing the brick to the silver screen.

Vue is bringing back Warner Bros.’ first two LEGO movies and The LEGO Batman Movie this summer, with each of the three feature films enjoying a weekend on the silver screen. The chance to catch 2014’s The LEGO Movie has already passed, as screenings took place over the weekend just gone, but you can still book for The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part and The LEGO Batman Movie.

The continued adventures of Emmet, Lucy and the gang originally debuted in 2019, and sees DUPLO aliens invade the world of Bricksburg – setting up a showdown between minifigures, mini-dolls and brick-built characters. You’ll be able to catch it back on screens at Vue cinemas from July 28 to 30. Head over to Vue’s website to check out showings local to you.

The franchise’s first spin-off The LEGO Batman Movie will then return the following weekend, with screenings taking place from August 4 to 6. The Dark Knight originally appeared as a supporting character in The LEGO Movie, and received his own film in 2017, helmed by Chris McKay and starring Will Arnett, Zach Galifianakis, Michael Cera, Rosario Dawson and more.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
