What can we expect for LEGO NINJAGO’s 15th anniversary?
The LEGO NINJAGO San Diego Comic-Con 2024 panel has confirmed plans for NINJAGO’s 15th anniversary and we might know what to expect.
The official description for the upcoming LEGO NINJAGO: Dragons Rising panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2024 confirms that the NINJAGO team will discuss the current run of Dragon’s Rising, the upcoming 15th anniversary of NINJAGO, and the future of NINJAGO as well as take a deep dive into the evolution of the show and offer insight into the characters.
The mention of the 15th anniversary is surprising as that’s not until 2026 and it’s unusual for the LEGO Group to confirm any details more than a year in advance. Still, they evidently intend to discuss in at least some form as well as other parts of NINJAGO’s future.
NINJAGO’s 10th anniversary in 2021 was celebrated throughout the theme’s sets and beyond, giving us an idea of what to expect from the 15th anniversary. A series of four battle-centric models were released with exclusive minifigures representing past seasons of the animated series.
A variety of models were also released under the Legacy line referencing specific scenes. These came complete with an exclusive golden LEGO NINJAGO minifigure on a display stand that you could collect – LEGO Star Wars is currently employing a similar strategy for its 25th anniversary.
Rounding out the celebrations, LEGO NINJAGO: Reimagined brought together various animation studios to create five unique shorts set within the world of NINJAGO. Looking at recent anniversaries across various themes, a collection of minifigures seems likely for the 15th anniversary but where they could be included is another question.
Legacy has not received a NINJAGO set since 2021 and it may be retired though LEGO Star Wars has no such range and its 25th-anniversary minifigures have simply been featured in standard sets.
Whatever the LEGO Group has planned for NINJAGO’s 15th anniversary, we’ll know more when the San Diego Comic-Con 2024 panel takes place on July 25 from 1:00pm PDT. It might be wise to keep expectations in check since the anniversary is two years from the time of writing though.
