What to expect from LEGO’s new Formula 1 partnership

The LEGO Group has announced a multi-year partnership with Formula 1 that includes sets, digital content, and paddock experiences – but what does that actually mean?

The lights are off and we’re racing with the LEGO Group in 2025, with plans confirmed for a LEGO x Formula 1 partnership. We’re expecting that it will look something like the inter-theme LEGO space collection we’re enjoying in 2024. However, at this stage, the LEGO Group has kept the details of the partnership pretty vague, promising content both digitally and experiences on the track at select races throughout the Formula 1 calendar.

The only theme specifically mentioned by the LEGO Group at this stage is LEGO DUPLO but we’d expect much, much more down the line. At the very least, we’d stake a lot on LEGO Speed Champions and Technic being included but, if we’re taking inspiration from LEGO space in 2024, there’s the chance for themes like LEGO Icons, Art, City, Collectible Minifigures, Friends, and DREAMZzz to be involved as well.

Put simply, there are a lot of possibilities out there. The only question now is which ones the LEGO Group will take. Brick Fanatics‘ Matthew is in a speculative mood over on our YouTube channel today and is weighing up the directions that the partnership could take. I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
