A fan-favourite villain returns in Star Wars: The Bad Batch
This week’s new episode of Star Wars: The Bad Batch features the return of a sinister fan-favourite villain, the ruthless Asajj Ventress.
Loyal fans sticking with Star Wars: The Bad Batch had plenty to be happy about when this week’s latest episode dropped on Disney+. The third season of the animated show is currently in full swing, with Clone Force 99 still in hiding from the forces of the Empire following a recent lucky escape.
In episode 9, The Harbinger, the clones discover they’ve been followed back to their hiding place on Pabu by none-other than Asajj Ventress. The former Sith assassin was last seen in the fifth season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, nearly 10 years ago, but her story didn’t end there. *Spoilers ahead*
Now sporting a new ship, lightsaber and haircut, Ventress has sought out Omega following a request from Hunter to Fennec Shand regarding intel on the Empire’s mysterious experiments on Mount Tantiss.
Ventress attempts to give Omega a crash course in the Force and the pair almost end up as a giant aquatic beast’s lunch, before the pale-skinned assassin leaves the planet, but not before warning Clone Force 99 that they may not be as well-hidden as they might think.
For such a fan-favourite character, Asajj Ventress has surprisingly only appeared as a minifigure in a handful of LEGO Star Wars releases to date. They include 7676 Republic Attack Gunship, 7957 Sith Nightspeeder, 75087 Anakin’s Custom Jedi Starfighter and a San Diego Comic-Con 2009 Exclusive set.
Whether the ruthless villain will ever pop up in another LEGO Star Wars set, potentially sporting her new Bad Batch look, is anyone’s guess, but with 2024 being the 25th anniversary of the theme, anything is possible.
