First rumoured details on LEGO Winter Village 2024 set

The first rumoured details on this year’s LEGO Winter Village set have landed online, pointing to an unusual entry in the festive subtheme.

That a new Winter Village set is on the way should be a surprise to nobody – this annual range has been pumping out sets like clockwork since 2009 – but the first word on 2024’s set is that we’re in for something unexpected from the LEGO Icons theme. Instagram user itavixbrix reports (via Brick Clicker) that this year’s set will be titled 10339 Winter Hot Air Balloon Ride, coming in at 1,440 pieces.

The build is said to include a hot air balloon, winter house, post box and Christmas tree, ticking off a couple of the staples of the Winter Village range while also keeping things fresh with an alternative means of transport. Given this subtheme has been ticking over for 15 years now, the LEGO Group needs to find ways to spice up the ever-expanding holiday village, and a hot air balloon could be just the ticket.

In line with recent LEGO Winter Village Collection sets such as 10308 Holiday Main Street and 10325 Alpine Lodge, 10339 Winter Hot Air Balloon Ride will apparently debut on LEGO Store shelves and at LEGO.com on October 1 – and will maintain the price point of its three most immediate predecessors at $99.99 in the US.

With LEGO set prices elsewhere ballooning (sorry not sorry), it’s pleasantly surprising to see the Winter Village stay in double figures. That’s if these details are accurate, of course: for now, take them with the customary grain of salt until we get official confirmation from the LEGO Group on the LEGO Winter Village 2024 set.
