First look at LEGO NINJAGO summer 2024 season

Following the release of the sets earlier this month for most of the world, promotion for LEGO NINJAGO’s summer 2024 tournament has begun.

The LEGO Group’s division in China has started marketing for the summer 2024 range of LEGO NINJAGO and the next chapter of the animated series through a series of intriguing posters that share a first look at the animated version of 71814 Tournament Temple City.

The LEGO Group’s Weibo account has now shared a series of posters, most of which feature minifigures scattered throughout the summer 2024 LEGO NINJAGO sets. At the bottom of a pair of these posters are advertisements for in-universe brands including Riyu Air. The dragon isn’t quite big enough for commercial transportation just yet, but at least he’s optimistic for the future.

The last two posters shared by the account focus on 71814 Tournament Temple City, 71821 Cole’s Titan Dragon Mech and 71822 Source Dragon of Motion. The latter two are featured on one poster in their brick-built form but the city set is notably not made of LEGO elements.

This appears to be our first look at 71814 Tournament Temple City as it will likely appear in the next chapter of LEGO NINJAGO Dragons Rising, complete with the unique trophy featured in the new set too.

A release date for the second half of LEGO NINJAGO Dragons Rising’s second season has yet to be confirmed at the time of writing, though the timeline of Season 1 suggests that it’s coming by the end of the year at the latest. The latest wave of LEGO NINJAGO sets is available now in most regions but 71814 Tournament Temple City is available in regions where the rest of the summer range is being held back until August.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.

We’ve gor the Kai and Coke elemental mechs. I don’t see Sora’s And Lloyd’s mechs in the shops though. Hope won’t have to wait for the second part of season 2 DR until December. August would be great!
