Five things we love about the minifigures in LEGO Ideas Hocus Pocus

LEGO Ideas 21341 Disney Hocus Pocus: The Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage features six exclusive minifigures and there’s a lot to love in them.

While the new Hocus Pocus model is missing a few key characters, an issue the fan designer aims to resolve, the six minifigures that are featured in 21341 Disney Hocus Pocus: The Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage are all unique in multiple ways.

From exclusive pieces to incredibly expressive faces, here are five things we love about the minifigures in LEGO Ideas 21341 Disney Hocus Pocus: The Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage

Only one blank leg piece

It’s not uncommon for leg pieces to be the most unprinted parts of LEGO minifigures, commonly left blank with no detail needed. Thankfully, that’s not the case in 21341 Disney Hocus Pocus: The Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage with only Dani missing a print.

Compare that to 21336 The Office, 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay, 21339 BTS Dynamite and more and suffice it to say, it’s a bonus of the LEGO Ideas model.

Specialised hair pieces for maximum accuracy

Winifred Sanderson, Mary Sanderson and Dani Dennison all use a new hair piece (or hair and hat combination brick) that are specific to the characters.

Despite the specific nature of these parts, they should be especially useful for anyone Hocus Pocus costumes you have in mind for custom minifigures.

More BTS brick use

Debuted in 21339 BTS Dynamite, the parted hair piece is back in 21341 Disney Hocus Pocus: The Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage.

It’s used for Max and offers another chance to pick up the brick, though it has become more common since the release of the BTS model.

Versatile hat/hair combo

Dani’s hat and hair combo brick works well for the character and with only a few bits of printing, could be reused in other minifigures for a different-looking witch than has been possible previously.

The older witch hat elements have had less natural hair or none at all, making this a more versatile brick.

Expressive faces

The faces used for the three Sanderson sisters are particularly expressive, matching the movies.

It seems only a matter of time before someone in the community uses these face prints in some kind of hilarious and unexpected way.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
