Jedi Bob vanishes from LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy listings
Listings for two upcoming LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy sets have quietly removed any references to 75388 Jedi Bob’s Starfighter.
Two sets based on the upcoming Disney+ LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy animated special were officially confirmed earlier this week. 75389 The Dark Falcon and 75393 TIE Fighter & X-Wing Mash-up are both available to pre-order right now, with the models due to ship from August 1, 2024.
The LEGO Star Wars sets look to offer a fresh take on established vehicles and characters from a galaxy far, far away, approaching the builds from a ‘What if?’ perspective. Good is evil, evil is good, cats and dogs living together… that sort of thing.
In addition, the listings for 75389 The Dark Falcon and 75393 TIE Fighter & X-Wing Mash-up also included references confirming a third LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy set is on the way at some point in the shape of 75388 Jedi Bob’s Starfighter.
However, any mention of 75388 Jedi Bob’s Starfighter has now been removed from those listings, possibly suggesting that the inclusion of the text was in error and potentially jumped the gun ahead of a full reveal of the LEGO Star Wars set.
As mysterious as his elusive listing, Jedi Bob debuted back in 2002’s 7163 Republic Gunship, the character’s only appearance to date, although he does also pop up in the trailer for the LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy animated special.
Jedi Bob has since gained something of a cult following, with some fans going so far as to create a campaign to petition the LEGO Star Wars team to include the character in the UCS Republic Gunship.
While that didn’t come to pass, those same fans may now have cause to hope with 75388 Jedi Bob’s Starfighter looking to be confirmed as a future release, despite the set’s disappearance from existing LEGO Star Wars listings.
As soon as we have any more concrete details regarding the arrival of 75388 Jedi Bob’s Starfighter, we’ll be sure to let you know.
