LEGO 2K Drive Ideas challenge is one of most accessible yet

Enter the LEGO Ideas LEGO 2K Drive challenge for the chance to win a huge prize package, and it’s easier to enter this challenge than usual.

Right on time for the release of the first season of the year one Drive Pass, a new LEGO Ideas challenge based on LEGO 2K Drive has begun, asking for creative cars for a chance to win the grand prize.

LEGO Ideas challenges usually require you to make a physical build or digital model using specialised software, which can be intimidating for newcomers to use.

However, LEGO 2K Drive’s vehicle creation system is intuitive and welcoming, as mentioned in our review. This new contest also allows entries created in the game via screenshots, which might make it more accessible to those with less experience using software or fewer bricks in their home.

The brief for the challenge is to make a cool, crazy or otherwise unique street-racer car using 300 pieces or less.

The grand prize for this challenge, for which there can only be one winner, includes 42141 McLaren Formula 1 Race Car, 42111 Dom’s Dodge Charger, 76918 McLaren Solus GT & McLaren F1 LM, 76917 2 Fast 2 Furious Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34), 76912 Fast & Furious 1970 Dodge Charger R/T, a copy of LEGO 2K Drive on the platform of your choice and a prize package of LEGO 2K Drive goodies.

Some of those vehicles are now in the game with the recent season of the year one Drive Pass, likely not by coincidence.

There will also be one runner-up per category (the categories are not specified on the challenge page) who we believe will win 76918 McLaren Solus GT & McLaren F1 LM, 76917 2 Fast 2 Furious Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34), 76912 Fast & Furious 1970 Dodge Charger R/T, a copy of LEGO 2K Drive on the platform of your choice and a prize package of LEGO 2K Drive goodies.

The challenge page states that there will be two grand prize winners, but we’re assuming that this is an error and that the smaller package will go to the runners-up.

You’ve got until August 1 to enter with the crowd vote starting on August 8.

Also available to enter on LEGO Ideas now are a challenge for the LEGO House and another for Sonic the Hedgehog. The fan vote for the Singles Day GWP challenge has also just opened.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
