Latest LEGO fan design makes it into 10K club for the second time

A fan-made LEGO design has clanked its way past 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas for the second time, bringing a beloved movie character to brick-built life.

LEGO fan designer hachiroku24 first got their Iron Giant design past 10,000 supporters in March of last year – and now has pulled it off again with The Iron Giant in the Forest. The design appears to be much the same as the first time around, depicting the Iron Giant himself standing on an oval base, decorated with trees and foliage that helps give a sense of his height.

There’s also the brick-built car used as a rocket in the movie and a minifigure Hogarth of course. The giant himself is fully articulated, meaning he can be posed in a variety of different ways, as evidenced in the gallery of images below.

The Iron Giant in the Forest is the ninth LEOG Ideas project to make it into the second review round of this year. That means it’s one step closer to becoming a real LEGO Ideas set; check out its competition below.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
