LEGO Horizon Adventures officially revealed for PS5, PC and Switch

After plenty of speculation and rumours, LEGO Horizon Adventures has been officially revealed for PS5, PC and Switch, launching later this year.

The LEGO Group and Sony have revealed the first official details for LEGO Horizon Adventures, with the upcoming video game announced at this year’s Summer Game Fest showcase. Co-developed by Guerrilla and Studio Gobo, the title will be launching exclusively on PlayStation 5, PC and Nintendo Switch during the ‘2024 holiday season.’

LEGO Horizon Adventures looks to present a more light-hearted spin on the smash-hit video game Horizon Zero Dawn and is set in a distant future made up of LEGO bricks and dinosaur-like machines. Players take on the role of machine hunter Aloy, who sets out on a quest to confront the leader of a group of sunworshippers and discover her true identity.

Although primarily a single-player action-adventure experience, LEGO Horizon Adventures does feature a two-player couch co-op mode, with Varl and a crew of other colourful characters, although sadly there’s no online multiplayer aspect. As is the norm with LEGO video games, players get to explore a variety of brick-built levels, take down gigantic enemies and unearth all kinds of secrets.

The announcement trailer for LEGO Horizon Adventures reveals many of the game’s features in action, including the ability to give the village of Mother’s Heart a makeover, customise buildings, collect ornaments and unlock a selection of costumes, such as a classic LEGO Space astronaut outfit.

The LEGO Horizon Adventures trailer also includes a surprise appearance by the long-since retired 76989 Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck, as well as many other familiar LEGO models and minifigure characters.

LEGO Horizon Adventures is set to be released later this year on PlayStation 5, PC and Nintendo Switch and is rumoured to be arriving in both a base version and a deluxe edition, although that’s yet to be confirmed.
